Who I am
Inkrise is the trading name of Georgia Brookes, a sole trader based in the UK. I am the "data controller" for the personal information collected through this website, which means I decide how it is used and I am responsible for keeping it safe.

What information I collect
I only collect what I need to reply to you, work with you and run my business.
Contact details, when you fill in my enquiry form, book a call or email me: your name, business name, email, phone number, and website or social media handle.
Enquiry details, when you tell me about your project: what you need help with, your budget range and how you heard about me.
Booking details, when you book a discovery call: the date and time of your call and any notes you add.
Client information, when we work together: billing details, brand materials, photos and content you share with me, and project notes.
Website usage data, when you visit the site (see the Cookie Policy): pages visited, device type, approximate location and how you found the site.
I do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health data), and I don't collect data from children.
Why I use it, and my lawful basis
According to UK data protection law (UK GDPR) I must have a lawful reason to use your information.
To reply to your enquiry and arrange calls. Basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, or my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
To deliver the services you've booked, and invoice you. Basis: performing our contract.
To keep business and tax records. Basis: legal obligation (HMRC requires records to be kept).
To understand how people use my website and improve it. Basis: your consent for non-essential cookies, and my legitimate interest for essential site functions.
To show client work in my portfolio. Basis: your consent or our agreed contract terms. I will always agree this with you first.
Who I share it with
I never sell your data. I only share it with trusted services that help me run my business, and only as much as they need. These include:
Squarespace: website hosting, forms, analytics and newsletter emails
Google Calendar: booking discovery calls
Google Workspace: email and file storage
Accounting Software: invoicing and bookkeeping
Monzo: taking payments
My accountant, for tax purposes
I may also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these services store data outside the UK, for example in the US. Where this happens, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or the UK's international data transfer agreements.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work: 12 months from our last contact.
Client records and invoices: 6 years after our work ends, to meet HMRC record-keeping rules.
Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
Website analytics: as set by Squarespace (see the Cookie Policy).
After this, I delete your information securely.
Keeping it safe
I use password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication, reputable providers with strong security, and I limit access to your information to myself and the services listed above.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
Access the personal information I hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
Delete your information, where I no longer have a reason to keep it
Restrict or object to how I use it, including marketing
Withdraw consent at any time
Data portability: receive your information in a format you can take elsewhere

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
